This week of Summer Camp is all about learning to weave!
Does your teen have an interest in exploring weaving on a rigid heddle loom? The ancient craft of weaving connects all ages with its range of options, from simple to complex. In this week-long camp, we’ll explore creative weaving on a lap loom, followed by warping and weaving on a rigid heddle loom.
Using the principles of STEAM while honing fine motor skills and problem-solving, kids will:
-Learn all about different fibers and their unique properties,
-Use a variety of looms to learn the warping process,
-Learn a variety of weaving techniques and best practices,
-Design patterns and explore color palettes,
-Explore their own styles,
-Actively do math with hands-on creative weaving!
This camp is recommended for teens, ages 13+ years old.
