In this 3-week course, Istructor Tracey Herriot will introduce students to skills that can be used in all of your future sewing projects. New sewing techniques will be taught each week and when to use them. Sewing techniques include: installing zippers, hemming pants, pockets, Hong Kong seams, how to sew a sleeve (set a sleeve) using different textiles, and much more! Build your own sewing portfolio! No experience necessary. Ages 12+ welcome!

In this 4-week introductory ceramic hand-building series, students will create functional and nonfunctional ceramic art using a variety of techniques and their imaginations. Learn how to create with coils, slab construction and clay pinching methods. See the beauty of the final results as your pieces come out of the kiln. Students will create multiple pieces and learn how to glaze finished artwork. All materials included. Projects are changed regularly. Ages 6-12 years welcome!

Ages 3-6 welcome! Little ones learn best through exploration. Each week your young child will explore different crafts using safe, natural materials meant to engage curiosity and wonder. Through hands-on activities your child will learn to express themselves in a creative way while practicing fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination and much more. This series is a wonderful introduction to a creative and nurturing learning environment.

This month-long class is perfect for kids who love to make things! Using and developing STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts & mathematics) skills, children get acquainted with various woodworking tools, techniques, and devices and learn about wood as a material. Students will be guided through a series of exercises that teach specific skills such as hand-eye coordination, problem- solving, craftsmanship & the mechanics of woodworking hand tools. Ages 6-8 yrs. Meets 4 times per month

This four-class series taught by ceramicist Isra Basurto serves as an introduction to wheel-thrown ceramics where teens, ages 12 years and up, will learn the important steps of throwing, trimming, and glazing. Each week a different step is taught. Within this 4-week course, students learn how to create functional pottery pieces while exploring their creativity! Projects will be ready to pick up 1-2 weeks after the last class. Class meets four Tuesdays each month.

Teens Woodworking monthly class. Taught by lead instructor, Steffi Dotson, in this class students will cover the properties of wood, machine safety and woodworking basics. Students will learn woodworking techniques, and safe practice of machine operations will be taught. Depending on the specific project, joinery techniques, proper sanding and finishing are part of the curriculum. Each attendee will make their own project. And, projects change each month, allowing students to progress.

Have you wanted to dive into the mindful, rhythmic, magic of weaving? In this rigid heddle loom workshop, students will learn to weave their own unique handwoven fabric in both plain weave (a classic, simple pattern) and clasped weft (where two wefts interconnect, creating unique patterns). Each student will learn the basics of how the loom works, a variety of simple weaving techniques, plain weave, clasped weft weaving, and finally, hemstitching for a finished piece. Ages 14+ yrs

Do you need help learning to use your sewing machine? Want to know how to thread your machine and wind a bobbin? This class is for you! We’ll show you how to use your machine, simple troubleshooting tips, and the sewing basics. Our project will be a simple pillow case. All materials included. It’s best to bring your own sewing machine, but you may also borrow one of ours. ***If you’re attending with your child, and participating only as support, just purchase 1 enrollment.

In this 4-week class, instructor Lydia Kardos will teach the basics of handbuilding to create functional and sculptural ceramics. Working with midfire clay, we will explore various methods of building forms and decorative techniques with glazes. Students will complete various projects throughout the course, learning the basics of clay materials and handbuilding — skills necessary to work independently in open studio. Students will be able to utilize a wide array of glazes and colors. Ages 12+yrs

This workshop teaches the basics in Stained Glass. No previous glass experience is needed. During the workshop, students will complete a small project using glass they select from a variety of colors and textures. Different patterns are available to choose from. Students will learn how to handle glass, cut and grind glass, apply copper foil, and solder pieces together. Glass is included in the class price and all tools are supplied. No experience necessary. Ages 14+ welcome.

In Kintsugi, Embracing Imperfection, students will learn about the origins of Kintsugi, the Japanese ‘art of golden repair,’ and its meaning as it relates to one’s own life. Instructor Luis Santiago explains, “In these uncertain and crazy times, I believe people can find some solace and comfort in realizing that their so called “scars” and imperfections are things that do not need to be hidden or ashamed of.” Ages 17+ yrs welcome.
