Individual guidance meets you where you’re at, assisting returning to the wheel with more confidence. The class will begin with an overview of the basics (wedging, centering, pulling, etc) to build a solid foundation and help give students confidence to take on more complex forms. Students will learn, in depth, about the process of turning clay into ceramic, including drying stages and moisture management, firing processes, decorating techniques, fixing mistakes, planning forward, and more.
Students will be given plenty of inspirational resources during class, including demos, pottery examples, one-on-one feedback, and more. This class is designed for those familiar with the basics of working with clay.
Projects will be ready to pick up 3-4 weeks after the last class.

Prerequisite: Student has taken either a Beginning Wheel or an Intro to Wheel multi-week course, or has equivalent experience elsewhere. Student has experience on the wheel and has a basic understanding throwing – wedging, centering, pulling walls, trimming. Student is familiar with the basics of the ceramic process – stages of clay, making attachments, glazing, firing etc.

We recommend that each student bring an apron to wear and an older towel or a cloth rag.
