Mural Arts Philadelphia, Fair and Just Prosecution, and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office collaborated on a groundbreaking Artist-in-Residence program with artist James “Yaya” Hough. The 10-month residency led to the creation of works of public art that explore the human toll of incarceration and highlight the importance of creating alternatives to a punitive and incarceration-driven justice system. Hough’s exhibition, Points of Connection, will be on display across Philadelphia, offering the public a chance to engage in direct dialogue on criminal justice reform issues. This virtual panel discussion moderated by Mural Arts Philadelphia Executive Director Jane Golden will feature the artist, James “Yaya” Hough, District Attorney Larry Krasner, Fair and Just Prosecution Executive Director Miriam Krinsky, and Art for Justice Fund Project Director Helena Huang. They will explore Hough’s artistic process throughout the project, which raises the question: “What does justice look like?”
