inGenius 2019 STEAM Summer Camp Program: Third Grade (Week Seven)

STEAM Summer Camp Enriching mind where creativity thrives…… We are offering multiple weeks summer education for gifted and talented youth programs that combine challenging academics with social, cultural, and recreational opportunities to nurture students’ social skill, as well as enhance their natural talents and abilities.

inGenius curriculum is uniquely designed to develop critical, complex and creative thinking.
Summer programs are available in several areas including: STREAM (Science, Technology, Read & Writing, Engineering, Art, and Math), multi-languages, sports, and visual and performing arts. 

Morning Camp
Select one from the following:
 Making Sense of Geometry
Understanding geometry basics is essential for all math students today. This camp will explore topics in Geometry and make math come alive with intriguing examples of geometry in the world around us. Students will learn about 3D shapes, tessellations, transformations, constructions, and more as they explore topics in geometry and participate in various hands-on activities. Students will build their understanding of shapes, formulas, and geometric tools for future studies in Geometry courses.

 Learning to Code by Design with Scratch
Let your imagination run wild in this multimedia adventure. Scratch is a fun and easy way for kids to learn the basics of programming using snap-together code blocks to build working programs.

 Research Methods
Students will learn how to conduct empirical research. We will cover the differences between causation and correlation as well as the three main factors that make a study scientifically valid. The class will result in us collaborating to conduct our own research study on the rest of the camp, and publishing our findings.

 Outdoor Sports (Group B)
Outdoor sports camps take place in the Canyon Crest Academy fields. Activities include: Capture the Flag, Basketball,Soccer, Bocce Ball, Rugby, Yoga, Over the Line. Rotation Games: Park Ranger, Sharks and Minnows.
Afternoon Camp 
Select one from the following:
 Mysterious Ancient World
Learn about mysterious ancient countries around the world. Compare and contrast their culture, legend and daily living. Complete an interactive notebook and project for each lesson. Be able to tell one fact from each area and time.

 3D Modeling & 3D Printing
Explore the interesting world of 3D Modeling. In the class, you'll learn the basics of perspective scale drawings and how to use 3D software to design. You will also learn how this technology is revolutionizing social progress from rapid innovation in business to formerly unprecedented breakthroughs. This class will engage students in conceptual and practical spatial problem solving and precise geometric formulation.

 Creative Clay
Artists will explore various ways to create with clay. They will explore projects such as pinch pots, Pueblo pots, animal sculptures, and more. All without the use of a pottery wheel or a kiln.
