San Diego-based yoga instruction serving multiple communities in multiple locations. For children my style incorporates music, books, and crafts into yoga-oriented play, where I (hope to) inspire mindfulness, and help them learn how to energize as well as calm with the breath.

Not sure what to do with the kiddos this summer? I've got you covered!

Starting on June 22, BYOMyoga will lead Kids Yoga Camp three mornings a week. Each week will have a theme:

Week 1 Superheros: June 22, 24, 26
Week 2 Mo Willems: July 29, July 1, 3
Week 3 Gardens: July 6, 8, 10
Week 4 Machines: July 13, 15, 17
Week 5 Pete the Cat: July 20, 22, 24
Week 6 Shapes/Geometry: July 27, 29, 31
Week 7 Origami: August 3, 5, 7
Week 8 Creepy Crawlies: August 10, 12, 14

For a $10/week donation in advance (or drop-in $5/class) your kids ages 2-8 can participate in crafts, music, movement, and dedicated fun! "Miss Jackie" takes to the mat with your children teaching them age-appropriate exercises for stretching young bodies, strengthening their muscles, challenging their mental and physical coordination, and assisting learning self-regulation. We'll breathe, play, and sing along to songs by favorites like Laurie Berkner, Elizabeth Mitchell, Raffi, and more. There might even be some live ukulele!

Once you sign up I'll email caregivers craft supply lists ahead of time - and they are all simple, inexpensive and not to messy. The instructions will be short and posted on the website after classes so you can rewatch and follow at your leisure after the live class.

We'll start each class at 10 AM PST sharp (please be on time) with the "breathing ball" (Hoberman Sphere©), then move and groove for a good 20 minutes. We'll either do our craft (on Fridays) or read a book (on author weeks). As always we will finish up with guided rest and say our Namaste at about the 35-minute mark. Caregiver participation as always is welcome, especially on craft days (Friday).

Please pre-register at byomyoga@gmail.com to hold your spot and sign a participation waiver. Donations can be made via PayPal, Venmo, or check, before or after class (suggested, never required).

I'm hoping that this camp provides a welcome opportunity for those seeking a low-cost, at-home activity for families that's still fun this summer. Thank you for your support!

About Me

My name is Jackie Gadd, and I am a San Diego-based yoga instructor who serves multiple communities at multiple locations.

I have been a yoga enthusiast and practitioner since early 2004, when I went into the practice to help heal my body during a time of physical and emotional illness.

My love for teaching blossomed when I was asked to volunteer teach for a local public school's fifth grade girls mentoring program. That inspired me to train specifically in yoga for children, which has become a lifestyle and lifetime commitment to bring the joy of yoga to every individual, child and family that I can.

I have multiple accreditation in children’s yoga, and my E-RYT200 and RPYT (perinatal) with Yoga Alliance. My original RYT200 is from  the Himalayan tradition-based Yoga Well Center of San Diego and the RPYT is from Becalmed Yoga. I most recently received my 65 hour certification from Yoga Heals Us in Therapeutic Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis (aka Teaching Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis). I have a vested interest in understanding and explaining the connection between yoga functional movement to maximize the mind/body/breath experience.

For children my style incorporates music, books, and crafts into yoga-oriented play, where I (hope to) inspire mindfulness, and help them learn how to energize as well as calm with the breath.
