CMRS strives to be open every Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM during which time the general public is invited to learn of Corona's railroad and citrus heritage by viewing our model railroad from the visitors' gallery.
Typically the last Saturday of odd-numbered months (January, March, May, etc.) feature Formal Operating Sessions when CMRS members operate in an era-specific prototypical manner, including timetable, dispatching, and switchlists.
Typically, the last Saturday of even-numbered months (February, April, June, etc.) feature a Free Run, the only public hours when members run equipment from other regions and eras. (Note: Upon reaching full membership, our members are free to run any equipment of their choosing during non-public hours. Prospective members should see Membership or Bylaws for more information.)
Normally, on all other Saturdays visitors will likely find CMRS members engaged in maintenance, work projects, or informally running any of our historic rolling stock from Corona and Southern California, circa 1945-1955.
If you are planning a visit to CMRS requiring a considerable drive it is suggested you first check our calendar or contact us to confirm that a member will be on site. The Corona Heritage Museum, the Art Colony, and the various other park artisans & shops are usually open during these same Saturday hours.
