Old Town is one of San Diego's most exciting communities to celebrate Día de Los Muertos! This pre-Hispanic tradition originated in Mexico and pays tribute to loved-ones lost. The holiday is celebrated with uniquely decorated ofrendas (altars), elaborate costumes and face-painting, and time spent with family and friends. Shop amazing art and crafts on Saturday, October 28 & Sunday, October 29, 2023 along San Diego Avenue and Harney Street. The event will also include activities for the whole family.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Visit Old Town San Diego for a season of celebrations. Join our annual candlelit procession on November 2. Take a tour of more than 40 authentic ofrendas. Bring the family on October 28 & 29 for amazing art and activities in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park and stroll the fabulous street market with crafts and activities.
