In the King Gallery COLORFUL CULTURE: AFRICAN BEADS is an exhibition that spotlights the Museum's collection of beads and bead objects from across the continent of Africa.
Beads are central to the lives of all African people and are an integral part of a multilayered communication system across cultural communities. Beaded objects and beaded adornment reflect the many contrasting lifestyles and cultural heritage of African societies, a characteristic more pronounced throughout this continent than in any other part of the world.
